The Wonders of Bi-Carb Soda

Bi carbonate soda

This simple but wonderful product has the same cleaning power of your regular brands without the harsh chemicals.

Try it for yourself!

The following post is about what this baby can do so keep reading to find out.

  • Add to your bath or your baby’s bath to soften skin and reduce nappy rash. Can sprinkle on nappies to help prevent nappy rash, best combined with cornflour and some zinc cream.

  • Can use a solution of bi-carb and water as a mouth gargle to refresh the mouth, can sprinkle on toothpaste and use as a natural whitener and also use as a denture soak.

  • Soak shower curtains in a solution of bi-carb, vinegar and water.  Vinegar kills 80-90% of all mould.

  • Sprinkle on surfaces such as sink, fridges, microwaves, ovens, rusty stains, clothes stains, bath, shower and cooking stains.  Add water and scrub with brush or abrasive cloth.

Natural deodoriser
open up box or pack and leave in fridge, laundry, wardrobes/robes, in the shed, the car, the dishwasher, shoes, slippers and any storage space. Can absorb the smell of kitty litter trays just layer the bottom with bi-carb and top up with kitty litter.

  • Can absorb oil marks on carpet, driveways, and walls

Burnt cooking pots and pans
(stainless steel not aluminium)layer the bottom of the pan with bi-carb, add some water to make a paste and let it sit for 20 mins then scrub. If this does not remove burns repeat the process but bring to the boil for 5-10 mins, let cool then scrub again. If this does not work it is time for a new pot or pan.

  • Wash all reusable containers, thermos (stainless steel not aluminium)  and drink bottles, baby bottles and even your BBQ with bi-carb

Drain cleaner
Sprinkle down drain add vinegar, wait 20 mins then flush with boiling water, regular use keeps shower drain smelling fresh.  (Do not use for sewage drains, consult professional advice)

  • Personally have not tried this but bi-carb can put out small fires, keep in kitchen next to the stove. Plain natural flour can do the same.

Bi-carb is an affordable natural product that gets the job done.  Reducing the use of chemicals in your home will create a more healthy environment.
